About the Map
What is it?
A map with user-submitted alerts about winter weather ground conditions in Portland anywhere people walk, ride, or run.
Who's it for?
Anyone really, but our main audience is runners and cyclists in Portland who want to know what sidewalks or bike lanes might not be usable after a recent snowfall or other winter weather.
How do you use it?
To read the map, just look! Alerts are supposed to be fairly self-explanatory from their icon. If you want to see any notes a user submitted with a specific alert, just click its icon on the map to activate a popup with that info.
For general descriptions of each alert category , click the 'icon key' button at the edge of the map.
To submit your own alert, hit the 'submit' button and a new marker will appear. You can then drag and zoom the map as needed to get it where you want it. Click 'confirm' to lock it in place and display the form where you provide a couple quick details before submitting.
